At first glance, the advantages of individual excursions in any country are obvious. About the same as if you were offered to use public transport or call an extra-class taxi. What would you choose? The answer is predictable! Someone will say that the cost of a car is much more expensive than a bus. But this is not always the case. Let's figure it out...
The most pressing and sore point for many travelers on vacation. Elementary mathematics will allow us to understand the absurdity of the situation when we choose to travel on a big bus.
Take, for example, the standard
Thessaloniki sightseeing tour from the Halkidiki region. The cost of a group trip with a guide on a bus is 40-80 seats - 50 euros per person. The cost of an individual guided tour in a minivan with up to 8 seats is 400 euros per car. We divide this amount by 8 people and get the same 50 euros. Question: why do we need to ride on a huge bus with a large number of strangers with their own goals, needs, and upbringing, when for the same money you can safely travel in comfort?
- Number of people in transport
In general, we have already considered this point. But, even if we approach the issue in more detail, it is quite obvious that 4-8 people to guide in a small car is much more convenient than a couple of dozen. The guide will be able to present more information, and you can ask questions during the trip, without disturbing forced fellow travelers. Accordingly, you will get much more pleasure from this trip, even if your goal is just to unwind and see new places without unnecessary details.
Each standard excursion is calculated exactly on time. You can ask this at any travel company where you buy a trip. At any location, a strictly defined time is given for a walk, a photo, and the informative part from the guide. From the final point, the bus must depart exactly on schedule, otherwise guests from many hotels risk being late for dinner if, say, traffic gets stuck in a traffic jam during rush hour.
In an individual tour, most often, the guide does not push you to the locations, giving you more time to walk and enjoy the place of stay. You can take your time for dinner, or, conversely, do not wait for all the other guests until they finish their meal. Small vehicles can also travel on narrow roads, avoiding traffic jams, unlike a large bus. Let the tour not change the route by 100% if you have purchased, for example, a
trip to Meteora, but you will have much more chances to enjoy this adventure.
Another plus in an individually planned excursion is additional stops in places you like or where you would like to visit. Of course, in this case, you need to warn the company organizing the trip in advance about exactly where you would like to visit as part of the tour. Almost any of your desires can be realized. Indeed, in Greece, indeed, there is everything!
